Niche Pre & Postnatal Pilates Training is designed to help you build the confidence, clarity, and teaching tools needed to safely support clients through pregnancy and postpartum. Through a thoughtful blend of anatomy-based education, intentional programming, and practical teaching strategies, you’ll learn how to adapt movement with care and create classes that are effective, supportive, and rooted in Pilates principles.
Whether you’re expanding your teaching skill set or deepening your understanding of perinatal movement, this specialized training offers the structure and support to help you grow as a more well-rounded instructor.
At Niche, we believe in supporting movement through every stage of life. This training equips instructors with the knowledge and tools to safely and effectively modify Pilates exercises for clients who are pregnant or postpartum.
You’ll learn how to:
- Understand perinatal anatomy, contraindications, and how Pilates supports functional everyday movement.
- Observe, assess, and adapt Pilates movement for pregnancy and postpartum bodies across all stages.
- Use confident cueing and modification strategies to safely support perinatal clients in group and private settings.
- Design progressive Pilates sessions that prioritize core function, pressure management, and recovery.
Our programs are built to balance depth with flexibility so you can develop real teaching confidence without overwhelming your schedule. Niche graduates are known for clarity, adaptability, and a human-centered teaching style.

- Online coursework

Your training includes access to specialized pre and postnatal Pilates education, anatomy-based instruction, practical teaching strategies, and ongoing support throughout your learning experience.
You’ll gain the tools to confidently modify movement, understand perinatal considerations, and create thoughtful programming for clients throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
Students will also have access to the NIT student community and mentorship opportunities to support continued growth and connection.
Our in-person training offers a collaborative, hands-on learning experience with real-time feedback from instructor trainers. This format allows you to refine your teaching approach, build confidence working with prenatal and postpartum clients, and gain practical experience through direct instruction and discussion.
Includes:
- 2 training days (6 hours each, 12 hours total) at our Richmond, VA studio
- Online coursework (5 hours)
- Quizzes and knowledge checks (85% passing requirement for certification)
Our online training offers the flexibility to complete your education at your own pace while maintaining the same thoughtful instruction and educational quality.
Online Training Experience (10 Hours) includes:
- Online training material (5 hours)
- Independent practice (5 hours)
- Optional mentorship check-ins with instructor trainers
1. Register and Begin Your Training
Once you register for the program, you’ll receive access to your course materials and begin your Pre & Postnatal Pilates education journey.
2. Complete Your Coursework
You’ll move through specialized coursework focused on perinatal anatomy, movement considerations, exercise modifications, and programming strategies for pregnancy and postpartum clients.
3. Apply Your Knowledge
Through practice teaching, observation, and independent study, you’ll develop the confidence to apply your knowledge and create safe, effective movement experiences for your clients.
4. Complete Assessments
Students will complete quizzes and knowledge checks throughout the course. An 85% passing requirement is required for certification.
5. Receive Your Certification
After successful completion of coursework and assessments, you will receive certification in Pre & Postnatal Pilates Instruction through Niche.
While not required, the following backgrounds are recommended to support your experience:
- Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, or equivalent).
- 200-hour+ Yoga Teacher Training (RYT).
- Mat or Reformer Pilates certification.
- Group fitness teaching experience.
Adding Pre & Postnatal Pilates Training to your skill set is an investment in expanding your teaching opportunities and supporting a wider range of clients.
This specialized certification can help you expand your offerings, increase your value as an instructor, and create additional opportunities for private sessions, specialty classes, and client support throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
Approximately 3 weeks to break even
ROI calculations are based on teaching 5 hours per week at a base rate of $35 per class. After certification, many studios also offer attendance bonuses in addition to an increased base rate. In many cases, instructors can earn $50 to $100 per class when base pay and bonuses are combined.
